Standard Hull Cleaning
Boat hulls cleaned from waterline to bottom of keel, including all running gear, trim tabs, transducers, shafts and through-hull fittings. WE SERVICE ANY SIZE BOAT.
Each cleaning includes a brief written report on condition of paint and zincs.
$2.00 ft for cleaning
Zinc installations or replacements help keep corrosion under control and should be condsidered a priority. Zincs are changed with cleaning at $20.00 each and you must provide zincs.
All other Services below are $50 hour
- Propeller disentanglements-a fouled prop can cause costly damage if left unattended.
- Item retrieval-drop something overboard near your dock, Jim will look for it.
- Damage inspection-Hit something, something hit you, an inspection can ease your mind or help to properly assess the damage.
- Dock floats cleaned (Pricing depends on condition and type of dock material.) Quotes provided.
Regularly scheduled cleanings will help to maintain the life of your paint job. Todays antifouling paints help slow the growth of algae and barnacles on your boat, but regular cleanings extend the life of the paint, saving on costly haul-outs and provide a more fuel efficient operation.
Scheduled cleanings are projected 6-12 months in advance and Jim seldom adjusts schedules. If he falls behind, due to weather or unexpected delays, he will soon catch up and the total number of cleanings agreed upon will be performed. The only time he would charge more for a late cleaning is if Jim shows for a scheduled cleaning and the boat is not in its slip and a later cleaning requires more cleaning time due to increased growth. The increased cost would not exceed the cost charged had the boat been available for missed cleanings. In other words, 1 cleaning may require the time that would have been done in 2 cleanings, had the boat been available for the missed cleanings.
The running gear, where there is no paint, is where hard growth occurs and can drastically reduce boat performance. A cleaner hull and running gear, allows a boat to perform more efficiently, saving fuel.
If you have a newly painted boat, call Jim for your first cleaning, which should be performed approximately 6-8 weeks after painting. Non-abrasive products will be used to safely clean the hull and protect the paint.
